Thy name is my healing, O my God, and remembrance of Thee is my remedy. Nearness to Thee is my hope, and love for Thee is my companion. Thy mercy to me is my healing and my succor in both this world and the world to come. Thou, verily, art the All-Bountiful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.

Let me give my friend a hug, a gentle hug, a gentle hug, let me give my friend a hug when he is hurting. Let me get a tissue, a tissue, a tissue, let me get a tissue to wipe away his tears.
My Gentle Friend (tune “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”)
Today I met a gentle friend. I really liked to play with him. He touches softly, never shouts. Friendly words come from his mouth. Gentle friends can be fun too. Let’s be gentle, me and you.

[...] Gentleness Online Lesson [...]
Hi Chelsea-Zafar Smith and Penina Smith Hitti, We have just had our 3 rd class on Gentleness and it is getting better each time! We have 3 2.5 yr old boys and a 1 yr old girl.
Today we passed around a tiny baby caterpillar, very carefully. It was so lovely watching the children trying so very hard to be gentle and not to hurt him
We wanted to share an idea with you….
We love adding things to our book of virtues. Next week for our final class on Gentleness we are also going to write learning stories next to an image of each child practicing gentleness during one of our classes. Here is an example I found online of one :
http://eclkc.ohs.acf.hhs.gov/hslc/tta-system/teaching/eecd/Domains%20of%20Child%20Development/Science/Josie'sDrip.pdf
These we will paste into our Virtues books.
We also thought about holding a special ceremony at the end of each month for the placing of the jewel of gentleness on the virtues crown…..This could potentially involve special guests too?
Thanks for all your hard work in creating such wonderful resources for us to use!
Much love from the New Plymouth radiant hearts class
woops, this was supposed to go to your website…..? Oh well!
Hey Elishia! What lovely stories and I love your ideas! We recently started keeping a book for our classes, and it's been great to have the crafts all in one place. Taking pics of the kids is wonderful too.
Let us know what you come up with for the jewel ceremony, sounds like a neat idea! Maybe the kids can prepare something to bring, kind of like "show and tell" where they share an example of how they practiced the virtue during the month? Then they are presented with their jewel? Perform some of the songs/poems from the lesson etc? Have snacks together? I can definitely see how this would be special. Depending on the ceremony it could even be held every three months or something, or at the "end" of the term. Thanks so much for sharing! (PS When you comment using FB on our website, it shows up on your timeline)
Ooooh i like that show and tell idea Chelsea-Zafar Smith….Yes and having guests like a Grand parent or Dads or older siblings/ children from the community or friends from kindy ……i think having a ceremony will help the children to feel how special and important is the spiritual work that they are doing.
