Radiant Hearts was developed specifically for families with young children (starting from babyhood until age four) to memorize prayers and Baha’i quotations, and learn about spiritual qualities in their own homes.
However as we learn the words of Baha’u'llah and try to live by His teachings, we are no doubt moved to perform acts of service for our community.
Taking this process into consideration, the Radiant Hearts program paves the way for three specific acts of service:
- Teaching
- Hosting a Devotional Program
- Sharing Radiant Hearts with Other Children
Find ideas below of how you can incorporate the Acts of Service into your life as a parent of young children, using Radiant Hearts materials.
Teaching
One of the activities offered in each Radiant Hearts lesson is creating a Monthly Letter, ideas for which are described in detail in the “Introduction” you can download from the Radiant Hearts main page. Families can give the Monthly Letters to family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers, thus sharing the beautiful words of Baha’u'llah they are learning with those close to them.
Hosting a Devotional Program
There is a short Devotional Program with six quotations relating to the spiritual quality of the month, included in the Printables of each lesson.
Read ideas about hosting Devotional Programs when you have young children on this post.
If you have a baby, you may like to use the materials for a Mother’s Devotional. See this page for more details.
Sharing Radiant Hearts with Other Children
Whether you have a baby, toddler, or preschooler, you are probably making friends with parents who have similarly aged children that you like to spend time with. Radiant Hearts materials can be used as a resource to enhance the time you spend with your friends, to make the gatherings more meaningful and spiritually uplifting for parents and children alike.
If you have a toddler (child age one or two years old), you may like to host a Baha’i Playgroup. See this page for more details.
If you have a three or four year old, you may like to teach a Baha’i Preschool Class. See this page for more details.

Feel free to share other ideas of how you are using the Radiant Hearts materials to serve others beyond your family.
