Songs
Cleanliness
(Nabil H., Virtues In Us #20)
This is the way we wash our face, wash our face, wash our face.
This is the way we wash our face because we want to be clean.
This is the way we wash our hands, wash our hands, wash our hands.
This is the way we wash our hands because we want to be clean.
Cleanliness Song
(Jennifer Russell, The Virtues Songs A-Z CD)
I’m a clean kid.
I keep my life in order.
I’m a clean kid.
I wash my face everyday.
I’m a clean kid.
I do my share to keep our house in order.
I’m a clean kid, from Sunday to Saturday!

Cleanliness Song
(Rachel Coleman, Signing Time Volume 2)
Oh whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands they’re dirty.
Oh whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands they’re dirty.
A little soap and water, a little soap and water.
Oh whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands they’re clean.
Oh whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands they’re clean.
Oh whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands, they’re clean.
A little dirt and water, a little dirt and water,
Oh whoa, look at my hands, look at my hands they’re clean.
Comments about the lesson
Wow it was a great chance to work on cleanliness this month. We did a lot of cleaning and it felt great! It was a really nice opportunity to show my kids how much I really clean all the time, too!
My son really liked making the little mirror for the quotation this month. I used it to talk about the quotation from the Devotional as described in Daily Activity #11 and he seemed to really get the concept.
We had lots of messy play this month but it was more fun cleaning up afterward since I knew we were practicing cleanliness as a family. It’s amazing how practicing virtues can put my daily work into a more positive perspective!
We were getting ready to do Daily Activity #14 when my son decided he wanted to do something else. So I decided to write on the little hearts myself some “good clean happy thoughts.” The first one that came to my mind was my children laughing, so I drew a simple picture and then put it up on our board where we keep our Spiritual Treasure Box Projects. It was a nice reminder for myself to have clean happy thoughts all month!
My son really liked seeing all the objects that help him stay clean in Daily Activity #19. I was actually amazed there are so many we use every day! We put the pictures on a recycled piece of cardboard and stood it up at the sink this month, so he could see it each time he washed his hands.
