How to Make a Family and Friends Pick

January 9, 2012 By Chelsea

A “Family and Friends Pick” is some sort of container (box, bag, jar, etc) that holds names or photos of family and friends that your family would like to pray for.  Each time you pray, you can ask your child to select a name/photo at random and then your family can pray for that person.  Here’s how to make one…

To make one, select your container and decorate it as you wish.  Empty tissue boxes work very well.  You can use wrapping paper, construction paper, magazine pictures, words of things to be thankful for, glitter glue and stickers, etc.  Then create cards for family members by either printing photos (this way the child can tell who the card is for) or writing their names.

You may like to put the people prayed for in a separate place (like an envelope) until you have a chance to pray for everyone.

"Having morning family prayers is something I grew up with, but having a systematic approach that infuses Baha’u’llah’s words, virtues, and music into your morning devotions really carries that spirit through the rest of the day..." Read more on our Testimonials page.
