“Young and old, in cities and villages around the world, are taking part in a process of community building based on concepts enshrined in the Bahá’í Teachings.
This uplifting film [Frontiers of Learning] captures the insights and experiences of children, junior youth, youth, and adults—in Canada, Colombia, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and India—whose efforts to build vibrant communities are at the frontiers of learning.” (from the Frontiers of Learning website)
If you have not watched Frontiers of Learning yet, you will want to do so as soon as you can! It’s about 90 minutes and is incredibly inspiring to say the least. If you don’t have an hour and a half at one time, the video is conveniently broken up into four segments (one per featured country) so you can watch it over the course of a few days. It is definitely worth the effort!
Here is just a short quote from the video that is especially applicable to us as builders of the New World Order and as parents (22:30):
Capacity is something that’s built step by step. A person is not born with abilities. Capacity is built patiently. It’s a matter of perseverance, of not losing hope, of believing in the process, of believing in people.
The past few weeks have brought some other exciting developments in the Bahá’í world as well. Here are some of the highlights:
- The election of the Universal House of Justice (the 50th anniversary of the first election!) took place. Find out more here.
- The new Ridvan Letter from the Universal House of Justice should be circulating in your communities. Be sure to get a copy, read, and study it! (This letter would be the perfect resource for a Mama Soul Care session if you had the opportunity…)
- The “Five Years Too Many” Campaign has been launched to mark the five year anniversary of the wrongful imprisonment of the seven Iranian Baha’i leaders. Through this campaign the Baha’i International Community is calling for their immediate release – and to draw attention to the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran. Visit this article to read more and to find links to pictures, articles, and more.
- 19 more Youth Conferences have been announced – go here for details.
We have so much to be grateful for and excited about! Please share your thoughts about the video or other developments in the comments!
