Virtue Library for Friendliness

Here are some books we enjoyed while learning about Friendliness.  (For Family Virtue Time’s Online Lesson for Friendliness click here.)

Join in and Play by Cheri J Meiners

This book is appropriate for three year olds and up.  It talks about how you can introduce yourself to someone new or ask to join a group of people playing, what happens if they say no, and express yourself if someone tries to take something from you.  If the situations do not apply to your child yet, you can simply reword another sentence based on the picture into something else that your child will understand.

Sharing Time by Elizabeth Verdick

This book is appropriate for two year olds and up.  It talks about how it’s fun to share but sometimes it’s hard (shows two children pulling on a toy).  Then it explains ways friends can share – by playing together, taking turns, using a timer, or asking a grown-up to help.

Please share your own suggestions below, including a link to the book online and the age you think it is most appropriate for.

Testimonials

"Having morning family prayers is something I grew up with, but having a systematic approach that infuses Baha’u’llah’s words, virtues, and music into your morning devotions really carries that spirit through the rest of the day..." Read more on our Testimonials page.
