Prayer
My God, my Fire and my Light! The days which Thou hast named the Ayyam-i-Ha in Thy Book have begun, O Thou Who art the King of names, and the fast which Thy most exalted Pen hath enjoined unto all who are in the kingdom of Thy creation to observe is approaching.
(Baha’u’llah, Baha’i Prayers, p. 235)
Quotation
It behoveth the people of Baha, throughout these days, to provide good cheer for themselves, their kindred and, beyond them, the poor and needy, and with joy and exultation to hail and glorify their Lord, to sing His praise and magnify His Name…

Let’s show love – that’s the spirit of Ayyám-i-Há.
Feel it in your heart with every beat.

Chorus:
Shake hands, hold hands, wave ’em high,
It’ll make you feel happy and you’ll feel you can fly.
From the sky, to your heart to your feet on the ground
The spirit of Ayyám-i-Há– is all around.
Let’s show we care — that’s the spirit of Ayyám-i-Há.
Time for our neighbourhood to meet and greet.
Let’s show charity, and share the joy,
‘Cause it’s fun and it’s sweet, what a delight, what a treat!

Comments about the Lesson
Ayyam-i-Ha is such a special time of year to really appreciate family and friends, and take time to make others happy. Including elements of service in celebrations (at home and with the wider community) is probably the most fun of all!
One thing I try to keep in mind while planning for Ayyam-i-Ha is to make the celebration a spiritual one, which will bring true joy to ourselves and others, and not focused on creating only material happiness (ie lots of presents, big parties, and extravagant food). We can have a lot of fun doing simple things!
I find Ayyam-i-Ha is a wonderful opportunity to remember that happiness comes from serving others. I hope to create family celebrations to help this spirit continue into the rest of the year.
